My cat: Garfield
Name: Alyssa VanBelkum
Position: Benton High School Young Life Leader
What would be the title of your autobiography?
You Are Loved
I've always struggled with the idea of needing everyone to love me. I would change myself constantly in order for people to "like me better". When I met the Lord, I quickly learned how much he loved me, despite how I acted, looked, or dressed. It's such an incredible feeling when you know there is someone out there that unconditionally loves you.
I would also have a sequel titled "A Girl and Her Cat" to discuss the daily adventures of Garfield and I. (pictured above)
In your opinion, what is the best ice cream flavor?
Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate! Seriously, I even put chocolate on my chocolate ice cream.
What has been your favorite thing about being a Young Life leader?
Getting to know and create relationships with young ladies and other leaders! The relationships I've built through Young Life has been life changing. I've been able to be a part of a strong supporting group that lean on each other for encouragement. Not only do I love how they pour back into my life as well. I'm able to walk through the journey of life with some amazing folks!
If you could have any superpower, what would you want?
Apparition (Harry Potter reference). That way I would never be late! Plus I could sleep in longer!
River, Lake, or Ocean?
Lake for sure! They are so relaxing!
Songs that make you feel good! Exactly what everyone needs on a drowsy Monday morning!
Ever wonder what your Young Life leaders do when we all get together and hangout for a weekend?
We stayed in a cabin in the backwoods of Missouri. And yes, it does fit all 50 plus of us leaders and committee members!
Take a moment today to find the rays of the sun and worship our Savior.
This is living now.
Good Morning friends
I have been obsessing over this cover of "Hello" by Adele! Enjoy.
